Welcome to Shenduruny Wildlife
Sanctuary, 66 km from Kollam town in Kollam
district. Declared in 1984 a wildlife sanctuary,
it has taken its name from Chenkuruny (Gluta
travancoria), an endemic species of tree.
There is a 26 sq km of artificial lake in
the heart of the reserve that was formed
by the Parappar Dam.
