to Peppara Wildlife Sanctuary. This Kerala
wildlife sanctuary covers a sprawling area
of over 53 sq km and comprises of tropical,
semi evergreen, moist deciduous forests
and varied species of animals, birds and
reptiles. Peppara Wildlife Sanctuary has
been notified as a wildlife sanctuary in
1983.
Constructed on the Karamana
River, the Peppara Dam is located in the
center of this fascinating Kerala wildlife
sanctuary. Travel to Peppara Wildlife Sanctuary

customs and traditions. Besides providing
habitat to numerous flora and fauna, the
preserve area also inhabits 13 tribal settlements.

the capital city of Kerala, through a scenic
drive. Trivandrum is about 45 km away from
the sanctuary. The capital city has well
