This is a bird sanctuary spread over a group
of islands in an area dotted with hillocks
in the estuary of the Kadalundi river. The
river flows into the Arabian sea here. The
rather untouched landscape is home to nearly
60 species of birds many being winter visitors
who come here to nest and breed. The islands
and birds can be watched from a 200 m high
hillock nearby.
